IPIL, Philippines – Police have arrested a top drug suspect here and two others, including a businessman, in Zamboanga City confiscating P552,600 worth of illegal drugs believed to be shabu in separate anti-drug operations.
Police Brig. Gen. Froilan Quidilla, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, had identified the arrested drug personalities as Kent Martinez, 19; Munir Adjid, 42, businessman; and Ariel Buhian, 52.
The police have arrested Martinez, a top drug personality of this town, at around 3 p.m. of June 13 at Purok Veterans, Veterans Village. Recovered from his possession was four grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000 and P500 marked money.
In Zamboanga City, Adjid was arrested in a drug bust June 13 at around 2 p.m. at Sitio Barigon in Tugbungan village.
Recovered from Adjid, a businessman, were some 75 grams of suspected shabu packed in four plastics sachets with an estimated value of P510,000 and the marked money used in the drug bust.
In a separate operation, the police have arrested Buhian at around 5 p.m. of June 12 in Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City. Recovered from his possession some P8,600 worth of suspected shabu packed in five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and the P300 marked money.
The police director said cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the detained suspects. (amm)
