Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay – Mayoralty candidate Katrina Cainglet has emerged as the frontrunner for the post of mayor following the results of an online opinion survey participated by at least 1,000 residents of this town.
Cainglet, an entrepreneur and niece of the late Mayor George Cainglet, had received 90.3 percent over her rival incumbent Mayor Isagani Balladares.
Balladares, who won as vice mayor in the 2016 elections, filled in the position as mayor after the late mayor Cainglet died last year. He is the father-in-law of Katrina Cainglet.
“It was very clear in the survey that the Kabasalenyos want to return to the Cainglet era of public service where no one is left behind,” the lady mayoralty candidate said.
There might be some less or plus error in the survey, Cainglet said, but “it is already an indication that we are winning.”
Her running mate, vice mayoralty candidate Dr. Luvly Cainglet was also leading over her rivals with 83.1 percent.
“We are thankful to all Kabasalenyos for heeding our call for change,” the mayoralty candidate said. (Press Release)
